you ca go up o a carpet because Minecraft uses the edge of the carpet as 1 block, the actual fence/gate being 1.5 blocks makes you go up to that height

My favourite staircase is the cake staircase with the horse!
Incase you didnt know, the reason you can jump over fences with carpets is because the carpet hit box extends out further than the fence, so you jump on the carpet edge, then walk up the extra half block onto the fence

Full block staircase are for stairs that you will never use again. The 2 by 2 is normally for going up the large trees and for mines and sometimes it’s for a treehouse but I rarely see that I have also never seen the carpet stairs the cake ladder seems slower then a real ladder. Getting a horse just to do that feels like animal abuse but it’s just a theory A Game theory
